Information we collect
We collect the following types of information.
- Account information: name, email, password
- Profile data: target score, test date, native language
- Usage data: practice sessions, progress, scores
- Audio and video recordings of speaking practice
- Written responses and essays
- Payment information, processed securely by Stripe
How we use it
- To provide and improve our educational services
- To generate AI feedback on your practice
- To enable human teacher reviews on the Powerhouse plan
- To personalise your study plan and recommendations
- To process payments and prevent fraud
- To contact you about your account
- For internal analytics and service improvement
Recording and retention
Your speaking and writing submissions are what make the grading possible, so they are kept.
- Audio and video recordings are retained for at least 24 months
- Written submissions are retained for at least 24 months
- You cannot delete your own recordings
- Data may be retained longer where law or business need requires it
- Anonymised data may be used indefinitely for research
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it with the following.
- AI service providers, to generate feedback
- Payment processors, meaning Stripe
- Analytics providers, anonymised
- Legal authorities, where the law requires it
Your rights
You can access, correct or request deletion of your personal data, subject to the retention requirements above. Recording consent cannot be withdrawn while a subscription is active, because the recordings are what the grading runs on.
