Reading & Use of English
90 min8 parts, 56 questions
Multiple choice, cloze tasks, word formation, and key word transformation.
Writing
90 min2 parts
Compulsory essay and a choice of letter, proposal, report, or review.
Listening
40 min4 parts, 30 questions
Multiple choice, sentence completion, and multiple matching.
Speaking
15 min4 parts
Interview, long turn, collaborative task, and discussion with a partner.
What a grade is worth.
Cambridge reports a scale score, and the grade that score earns maps onto a CEFR level.
Three grades, all passes
180 to 210
A grade A certificate reports C2 even though the exam is set at C1. If you are working out which rung any of this puts you on, the CEFR scale explains what each level means.
